This weeks Illustration Friday's topic is Layer.
The first thing that struck me was the choice of layer rather than its multiple layers, as everything is built up with layers this gave me something to think about.
Yesterday i was downtown breaking bread with my fellow breadmakers of Pão Rebelde collective.
I went out for a cigarette across the road where the street overlooks the river. It was a beautiful day and i love the river, i love water.
What i love most about the water in a river is how when you first look at it you see your own reflection. Then when you look around you see the reflection of the sky, the clouds, the sun and then the other things around it trees, boats, people, mountains, buildings, everything that is above the water reflecting back in the water.
When you look further you start to see the fish inside, first you see the ones swimming above, then you can to see deeper, sometimes even rocks and plants, all depending on how clear the water is and how deep it is too.
And then when you look at the whole mixture together it becomes its whole own universe!
So i figured the river was a one layer of substance within which lie layers of wonder and an infinite world of imagination. Always it is my meditation.
